Orange Is the New White
Matt Seinberg

Trump blames energy-saving light bulbs for making his face orange.

What's the first thing you think of when you see orange and white together? To me, it's a creamsicle on a stick, I don't care what brand. That combination of orange sherbet and vanilla ice cream is so yummy, that you want more than just one!

Orange by the bulbs.

Did you know that incandescent, fluorescent and LED lighting are orange, white blue? Yep, units of Kelvin regulate colour. See the chart below, which came from Wikipedia.

1700 Kelvin -- Match flame, low-pressure sodium lamps (LPS/SOX).

1850 K -- Candle flame, sunset and sunrise.

2400 K -- Standard incandescent lamps.

2550 K -- Soft white incandescent lamps.

2700 K -- Soft white compact fluorescent and LED lamps.

3000 K -- Warm white compact fluorescent and LED lamps.

3200 K -- Studio lamps, photofloods and so forth.

3350 K -- Studio CP light.

5000 K -- Horizon daylight.

5000 K -- Tubular fluorescent lamps or cool white or daylight compact fluorescent lamps (CFL).

Why is this important? It's because our idiot president blamed his orange skin on bad lighting. Are you kidding me? For him to be that orange, all the time, there would have to be complete darkness with a match flame or candle flame next to his head all the time. Those are Kelvin units of 1700-1850.

Why can't he just admit that he wears make up all the time and didn't realize until it was too late that the orange shade was all wrong? Fired was some idiot assistant responsible for that one, but it was too late.

Incandescent bulbs are mostly gone from the market place because they are not energy efficient. Fluorescent bulbs took their place for many years and offered different problems. LED blubs replaced fluorescents, in the last several years.

In my house, all the regular bulbs are LEDs, along with the outside spotlights and front and back porch lights. I prefer 3000K warm white inside and the outside are 5000K, which gives off a very bright light with a blue tinge.

I converted all my four-foot fluorescent bulbs in the basement to LED tube bulbs, also at 5000K. Only one fixture wouldn't work them for some reason. I'm not about to change the fixture since the fluorescent tubes work just fine.

In the living room fan, which we installed in June, the bulbs were a soft white at 2400K and the room was very dim. Until I pulled them out, I didn't realize they were a candelabra base, which is quite small. I ordered some 5000K bulbs from Amazon, but, of course, they didn't fit; back onto Amazon for the correct size.

When the replacement 5000k bulbs arrived, I installed them. Although they are bright, they have a very blue tinge to them, especially at night. Maybe I'll try to find something in the 3000-3500K range and see if they look better.

Still, no matter what, none of them renders any of us orange. If you look closely at the idiot president in various photographs, you'll see white around his eyes and hairline. He's called President Orange, Agent Orange, Creamsicle Man and many other fun names relating to that hideous orange color.

Is he trying to show the public how healthy he is by sporting a year round tan? He looks more like an Oompa Loompa from Willie Wonka than a human being. In many pictures posted on the internet, Trump he appears as a beached whale. Do the Russians have orange whales in their ocean waters?

Visions of orange men, dancing in my mind.

So, go and enjoy your creamsicle with a vision of the orange president dancing in your head. You are welcome.
